Our commitment

BidHawk is built to be usable by everyone, including people who are blind or have low vision, people who navigate by keyboard or switch device, and people with motor, cognitive, or vestibular disabilities. Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

What we've built in

  • Screen reader support: semantic HTML landmarks on every page, labeled form fields, descriptive link text, and ARIA live regions that announce calculator results, form errors, and status changes as they happen. Decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Full keyboard access:every action works without a mouse. A "Skip to main content" link is the first focusable element on every page, and a high-visibility focus outline shows where you are at all times.
  • Color and contrast: all text meets WCAG AA contrast ratios, and no information is conveyed by color alone - spread badges pair color with text and percentages.
  • Touch targets: interactive controls are at least 44x44 pixels.
  • Motion sensitivity:animation is disabled automatically when your system's "reduce motion" setting is on.
  • Zoom and reflow: layouts reflow at 200% zoom and on small screens without horizontal scrolling or loss of function.

Known limitations

  • Auction listings link out to third-party government sites (for example, GSAAuctions.gov) whose accessibility we don't control.
  • Some listing photos come from the government feed without alt text; we display the lot title as the accessible name in those cases.
  • Checkout and billing run on Stripe's hosted pages, which publish their own accessibility documentation.

Found a barrier? Tell us.

If any part of BidHawk is hard or impossible for you to use with assistive technology, email support@thebidhawk.com with the page and what happened. Accessibility reports go to the front of the bug queue and we aim to respond within 2 business days.

How we test

Pages are checked against WCAG 2.1 AA using keyboard-only navigation, automated audits, and color-contrast validation, re-reviewed whenever a page changes materially. This statement is updated with each review.
